Qatar 2022 World Cup preview: Brazil vs. South Korea, Japan vs. Croatia

Brazil are set to face South Korea in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup on Monday after slipping up against Cameroon. National coach Tite has confirmed that Neymar will be available. The Paris Saint Germain forward had missed the national team’s last two group matches due to a ligament injury in his right ankle.

Defender Danilo is also fit to return, while Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus is out for the rest of the tournament.

South Korea unexpectedly in

This will be South Korea’s first knockout game at a World Cup since 2010, when they were eliminated by Uruguay in the round of 16. The last time South Korea met Brazil in June, they lost 5-1.

However, this is the first meeting between the two teams and Son’s teammates will be hoping for a better result.

Japan test against Croatia

Our euronews correspondent Sam Ashoo was in Doha to update us on Monday’s other match:

“Japan will be hoping that the World Cup party is not yet accurate when they face Croatia in the evening. The national team of the empire has topped Group E after almost unbelievable victories against Germany and Spain.

But they face the Croats, who have gone unbeaten in their last eight games. The team is not too different from the one that reached the final four years ago. In fact, Zlatko Dalic has made only one change to his starting eleven in the last three games.

It’s going to be an exciting game here in Doha at the Al-Janoub Stadium. Japan have never qualified for the quarter-finals of a FIFA World Cup and we’ll find out later tonight if they can make it. Sam Ashoo, for Euronews in Doha. “
