On Wednesday, June 26, Rot-Weiss Essen will start preparations for the 2024/2025 season. This player will also be there.
Rot-Weiss Essen has presented its fifth external signing for the new season. It is a player from abroad.
Robbie D’Haese has signed for Hafenstrasse. The 25-year-old winger moves to Hafenstrasse from Belgian second division side KV Oostende and will bolster the right side of the attack for coach Christoph Dabrowski’s squad, who will call on his charges on Wednesday.
“In addition to the German leagues, we are also monitoring the market in the Benelux countries. During live scouting in Belgium, Robbie D’Haese made a very good impression with his playing strength and has already proven his quality in over 80 first division games in Belgium. We are delighted that we were able to convince him to move to Germany. Robbie can cover the entire right flank, but is primarily intended to play on the offensive wing,” explains Director of Professional Football Marcus Steegmann.
“Robbie D’Haese is a technically very accomplished and fast winger who will help us enormously with his flexibility. He has a lot of depth in his game, a strong ability to overcome opponents and has good speed. We hope that his strength and intelligence will give our offense a lot of impetus,” added RWE head coach Christoph Dabrowski.
The people in charge and the coach have clearly shown me the club’s plan and goals, and I definitely want to be a part of that. I’ve already watched a lot of videos from last season and I’m looking forward to being able to experience home games at Hafenstrasse live soon
Robbie D’Haese
D’Haese spent his entire soccer career – apart from three years at Club Brugge – at his youth club KV Oostende, for whom he played 83 games in the Belgian first division. The right-footed player also has eight appearances for the Belgian U-national team on his CV. In the past season, D’Haese appeared in 23 second division matches.
“I’m delighted that my performances have also been recognized in Germany and I can hardly wait to show off my skills in another country. The people in charge and the coach have clearly shown me the club’s plan and goals, and I really want to be a part of that. I’ve already watched a lot of videos from last season and I’m looking forward to being able to experience home games at Hafenstrasse live,” said the Belgian new signing.
