Real Madrid contract until 2029: new details in Bellingham transfer

A week ago, the transfer of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid was announced. Now more contract details have been published. BVB can look forward to bonus payments.

Following the announcement of Jude Bellingham’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid, the remaining contract details have now been clarified. Accordingly, BVB will receive bonus payments for the midfielder in addition to the fixed transfer fee of 103 million euros. These can be up to around 30 per cent of the fixed amount.

The transfer fee, which could ideally rise to up to 135 million, comes in handy for Dortmund after a season of missed opportunities. The club is planning a squad rebuild. BVB boss Watzke had announced some time ago that he would reinvest “around 60 to 65 per cent of the transfer sums we achieve in this period”.

Bellingham will be signed by the Spanish top club until 2029, with Dortmund saying on Wednesday that the performance-related variables will stretch over a period of six years until 2029.

The 19-year-old had moved to Dortmund from Birmingham City three years ago, where he made 132 competitive appearances and scored a total of 24 goals. Bellingham said it had been an honour to “wear your jersey so many times, in big moments and in small moments.
