Third division soccer club Jahn Regensburg mourns the loss of its player Agyemang Diawusie.

As the club announced on Tuesday, the 25-year-old has passed away. “The club is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic event,” Regensburg announced. There was initially no information on the background, but the “terrible news” was received on Tuesday.

“The Jahn family mourns with the bereaved and our thoughts are with Agyemang’s family, relatives, close friends and companions,” the club’s statement read: “Due to the terrible situation and out of respect for his family, we ask that their privacy be respected.”

Diawusie had been playing for SSV Jahn since July, last appearing in the match at 1860 Munich on November 4. He had also previously played for the German national U-team
