FC Schalke 04 has a new fan representative. More precisely, a new fan representative.
Reinforcement for Thomas Kirschner. The head of the Fans and Members Directorate at FC Schalke 04 has a new employee. To be more precise, a new employee.
Lisa Limberg is the new fan representative at S04. She has held the position since the beginning of November, making her the fourth fan representative at the club. But she is the first female to hold this position at the Royal Blues.
Limberg is not a new appointment, however, but has been with the club for ten years. Most recently, she worked in the area of member projects in the Fans and Members department.
She is now joining Thomas Kirschner’s team, which also includes Sven Graner and Mitja Müller in addition to Kirschner himself. Kirschner himself became fan representative for the Knappen in 2014. He was previously chairman of “Ultras Gelsenkirchen” for many years and was also one of its founding members. However, he had already given up his position at “UGE” in 2012, long before he took office, due to differing views on the future direction of the group.
Membership numbers continue to rise
His predecessor as fan representative at S04 was Patrick Arnold. Arnold is now the head and managing director of the regional working group of fan projects in Bochum and was previously the fan representative at Schalke 04 for four years.
For comparison: Borussia Dortmund now employs ten full-time fan representatives. VfL Bochum has three fan representatives.
The other two posts as fan representatives were then gradually added in order to meet the increased demands. After all, the number of members at S04 continues to rise despite the ups and downs in the sport. The club now has around 180,000 members. This is probably one of the reasons why the club has now decided to appoint another fan representative, Lisa Limberg.
