Released in Paderborn – Former Bochum player Manuel Riemann set for another move

Manuel Riemann is set for another move. SC Paderborn no longer has plans for the long-standing VfL Bochum goalkeeper. Will he end up in Cologne?

After an inglorious end to his time at VfL Bochum, Manuel Riemann returned to the soccer stage in the jersey of SC Paderborn. The 36-year-old spent the second half of last season as the starting goalkeeper for the second division club, which missed out on promotion after finishing fourth in the table.

But now Riemann’s time at SCP is already coming to an end. The experienced keeper, whose contract still has a year to run, has been released by his club to hold talks with potential new employers. He was absent from the start of training.

Paderborn have already signed a new number one. Nineteen-year-old Dennis Seimen is set to take Riemann’s place. He joined on loan from VfB Stuttgart.

It is still unclear where Riemann will end up. There are rumors of a transfer to 1. FC Köln. Lukas Kwasniok, who spent many years in Bochum, could follow him there. The coach moved from Paderborn to the Bundesliga newcomers and is considered a fan of Riemann, having brought him to Paderborn in the winter.
