Relegation battle – Essen native Jason Ceka has found a new club

Jason Ceka wants to give it another go in the second division. However, the 26-year-old will have nothing to do with the promotion battle.

Dynamo Dresden has presented a new signing who is still well known in the Ruhr area: Jason Ceka. He is on loan from SV Elversberg until the end of the season. However, the right winger has hardly played there since his summer transfer from Magdeburg in 2025. Seven games, 65 minutes – that’s not what Ceka is looking for.

“Jason is very versatile in attack and has already proven that he can be an important factor for his team in the 2nd Bundesliga. With him, we are even more flexible up front and can further increase our goal threat in the upcoming second half of the season. We are delighted to welcome him back with us right at the start of training in the new year, meaning he will complete the entire winter preparation with us,“ said Stephan Zimmermann, managing director of SGD. Ceka, who will wear the number seven shirt, added: ”Dynamo has given me a very good feeling since the beginning of the talks. Of course, after seeing less playing time recently, I want to have more influence on the pitch again and hope that together we can achieve our big goal of staying in the league.” Ceka brings the experience of 51 second division appearances to Dynamo Dresden. After spending his early youth at VfB Frohnhausen, the attacking player was trained at Rot-Weiss Essen and FC Schalke 04 from 2005 onwards.

Points Table

In Gelsenkirchen, he gained his first experience in men’s football with appearances for the second team. In the 2020/2021 season, he impressed with 15 goal contributions (twelve goals, three assists) in 25 regional league games, which brought him to the attention of 1. FC Magdeburg.

In the summer of 2021, Ceka moved to the then third-division club and quickly became a regular starter. In 36 games in the 3. Liga, he contributed to 18 goals (eleven goals, seven assists) – playing a key role in Magdeburg’s championship victory and promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. In the past three seasons and the current season, Jason Ceka has contributed a total of 17 assists and seven goals in his 61 second division games. Now he is set to add more minutes and points in Dresden.
