Björn Joppe, former coach of KFC Uerdingen, now works as sports director in the southwest of Germany. Now he signed a new coach and also KFC striker.
Forecasting had reported at the end of April 2023 that the up-and-coming Südwest-Oberliga club FC Cosmos Koblenz had landed Björn Joppe as sporting director.
Now the new sports director of Koblenz has also caught up with a former protégé from common Uerdingen times and also introduced a new coach.
Attacker Younes Mouadden, who scored eleven times in 56 matches for KFC, 1. FC Kleve, DJK St. Tönis and 1. FC Bocholt in the Oberliga Niederrhein and set up seven other goals, is moving to Cosmos Koblenz.
Mouadden and Co. will be coached by René van Eck in the new season. The club and the 57-year-old Dutch football coach have agreed to work together until 30 June 2025. Van Eck has mainly worked in professional leagues in Switzerland, Belgium and Holland in recent years. In Germany, the former professional was head coach at Alemannia Aachen, Carl Zeiss Jena and Wacker Nordhausen, among others.
“I see myself as a developer and at FC Cosmos I find exactly the right environment: ambitious goals, a lot of work on and off the pitch, but above all people with great commitment and heart and soul. I’m looking forward to my new task and we’ll really get going from now on!”, van Eck explains his decision.
Cosmos visionary and sponsor Remo Rashica added: “René fulfils exactly the requirement profile we need after the promotion. He provides clarity in sporting matters and can give the team a clear direction with his routine and experience. We are delighted to have won him over for FC Cosmos and our ambitious goals and will immediately involve him in the squad planning for the Oberliga season. “
