Right-back at risk of absence – “until further notice” without Kaminski

Cedric Brunner already missed the home game against VfL Bochum with an injury. The Swiss player was also absent from Tuesday’s training session.

FC Schalke 04, promoted to the Bundesliga, will have to do without Marcin Kaminski “until further notice”. This was announced by the Gelsenkirchen team. The 30-year-old Polish centre-back had to undergo a “minor surgical procedure on his calf” on Tuesday, as a glass-cut wound had not healed as initially hoped.

Kaminski’s only game for Schalke so far this season was the opening game against 1 FC Cologne (1:3). According to information from this editorial team, Kaminski suffered the injury in his private life.

For the Revier derby against Borussia Dortmund this Saturday (3.30 pm/Sky), Schalke 04 will probably also have to do without Cedric Brunner. The 28-year-old right-back is still suffering from muscular problems in his thigh and missed the training session on Tuesday afternoon. Brunner had already missed the 3:1 home win against VfL Bochum. There, the Swiss was replaced by Henning Matriciani (22).

Kerim Calhanoglu, Justin Heekeren and Ibrahima Cissé were also absent from the training pitch on Tuesday. The trio worked individually after playing in the Schalker U23 against 1. FC Düren (4:1) on Sunday.
