The first matchday was played in the U19 Lower Rhine League. The favourites are Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
The ball is rolling again in the U19 Lower Rhine League. After the relegations of Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, real calibres have entered the league.
Both are favourites for promotion and both won their first game. RWO had a hard time, but in the end they won 2:1 against VfB Hilden.
After 18 minutes it looked as if coach Daniel Balk’s announcement would be followed by the first taste. He said in the RS interview: “Extremely greedy for goals and a malocher mentality: Defend goals with all your might, everyone is up for keeping the zero.”
The Oberhausen side were greedy for goals at the start, and after 18 minutes it was already 2-0 after goals from Timo Böhm and Ozan Hot. After the changeover, Hilden came close, but RWO took the three points in the end.
The same goes for RWE: they won their first game at VfL Rhede 5:0. Here, too, coach Simon Hohenberg announced via RS the style of play, which should look like this: “Intense, courageous and fast-paced full-throttle and fun football.”
The first result: the Esseners obviously had fun. Mats Brune scored after 26 minutes for 1:0, after the change Etienne-Noel Reck, Ahmed Etri, Bojan Potnar (2) increased to 5:0.
Dostlukspor Bottrop also won by five goals at Arminia Klosterhardt. The score was 6:1 after 90 minutes.
Spvg Schonnebeck had even more fun on matchday one, sweeping KFC Uerdingen 11:2 off the pitch. The score was already 4:0 after 15 minutes, and it stayed that way until the break. But after that, the Esseners knew no mercy and successively increased the score. Especially Arne Wessels was in the mood for goals, he scored four times.
SC St.Tönis also defeated SG Essen-Schönebeck 2-1, SG Unterrath lost 0-1 to TSV Meerbusch, and SC Velbert beat Viktoria Buchholz 4-1.
