RWE II goal machine Emre Kilic: “Unfortunately, I was too lazy.”

Emre Kilic leads the scoring charts in Essen’s Kreisliga B. After 13 games, the Rot-Weiss Essen II striker has a whopping 34 goals to his name.

The second team of third-division club Rot-Weiss Essen is racing from victory to victory in Kreisliga B. They have played 13 games and won all 13. Promotion to the A-Klasse is now just a formality.

Emre Kilic also deserves credit for Essen’s excellent form. The new signing from the summer of 2023 has scored 34 goals in his 13 appearances for RWE II so far. Before continuing his goal-scoring streak in Kreisliga B, RWE II goal machine Emre Kilic answered a series of questions from Forecasting.

He adds: “I hope that at the end of the season I’ll be ahead of my teammate Dominik Milaszewski, who has 28 goals, and that we’ll be promoted, of course. I don’t know yet whether I’ll stay with the club. It’s too early to say at this point.”

Emre Kilic, how would you finish this sentence:

My greatest strength is… finishing!

My greatest weakness is… heading.

In our dressing room… it’s very loud.

The best moment of my soccer career was… at VfR Bottrop-Ebel. Samet Kanoglu also mentioned that recently in the forecasting questionnaire. I contributed 52 goals to the promotion back then.

The best goal of my career… was a long-range shot from about 30 meters. Those shots are awesome, and I’m really happy when they fly into the net. But I don’t have the best goal – I’ve scored over 200 goals in senior soccer, so there are simply too many to choose from (laughs).

I didn’t become a professional soccer player because… I was just too lazy.

The best thing about the Ruhr region is… the fresh air (laughs).

Football on TV or at the stadium? At the stadium.

Finally, a few more questions:

Who would you like to go for a beer with?

Michael Ballack, because he’s a great guy. He had that certain steadfastness. He was a real leader – no matter which club he played for.

What makes you laugh?

Other people’s mistakes. You could also say that I’m gloating (laughs). I stand by that.

What is indispensable to you?

A beer after the game. In life, of course, my family.

What kind of music do you like to listen to and what’s playing in the locker room?

I like German rap, but unfortunately, it’s almost exclusively schlager music in the locker room.

If you could start over again, what would you do differently in your life?

I should have invested more in soccer from an early age.
