The second team of Rot-Weiss Essen is on the best way to leave the Kreisliga B in the third attempt. The team also includes a real goal scorer.
Rot-Weiss Essen II finally wants to move up to Kreisliga A. At the third attempt, the RWE reserve is also well on the way to achieving its goal.
Coach Stefan Lorenz’s team is running a lonely course at the top and has won all seven games so far. And that with a goal ratio of 61:9 goals. The first chaser, Ballfreude Bergeborbeck, are already five points behind the second team of the third division club.
The RWE II squad also includes Dominik Milaszewski. The 38-year-old striker can look back on 21 goals in seven games – a real goal scorer!
The attacker was also once on his way to becoming a professional. He explains to Forecasting why he ended up becoming a garbage man instead of a professional soccer player and works for the Essen waste disposal company.
I’m happy in my job. Only people could produce less waste and keep the streets cleaner
Dominik Milaszewski
Milaszewski: “In the U19s at Rot-Weiss Essen, the coach just wasn’t into me. All my teammates confirmed that I was the better striker than the boy who played. But the coach saw it differently. So I spent the year on the bench. That was a setback, of course. Then I moved to Switzerland to SC Goldau in the 3rd league. After a super season, Murat Yakin, who had his first stop as a coach, wanted to get me to Concordia Basel. I was also convincing in training. But suddenly Yakin was gone and the new coach didn’t want me. I returned to Germany to VfB Homberg and spent the years in the top leagues of Westphalia and Lower Rhine and also in the Regionalliga West with FC Kray. Later, I switched to Vogelheimer SV. I’m happy in my job at Essener Entsorgungsbetriebe. Only people could produce less waste and keep the streets cleaner. “
If we don’t get promoted this year, you might as well deregister the second team. Honestly! We have a super team and a top coach. We will definitely go up. I’m going to commit myself to that!
Dominik Milaszewski
Further he says: “Even if it was not enough for the top, I am fulfilled. My little son Kian (6) is also talented and that’s where my heart goes. He plays for BV Altenessen and I also help out a bit as a coach. When you see the kids, you don’t think back years and wonder, what if? That doesn’t make any sense.”
And RWE II? “If we don’t get promoted this year, then you can also deregister the second team. Honestly! We have a super team and a top coach. We’ll definitely be promoted. That’s where I’m committing myself!”
And even in the Kreisliga A, the Lorenz eleven could rely on the services of the veteran: “If RWE wants to keep me on, then I’ll stay. If not, then I’ll help another club. I’m in great shape and want to play for a few more years. The age doesn’t matter, the main thing is that the performance is right,” Milaszewski answers the question of how long he wants to continue playing active soccer.
