RWE thriller sold out, regular player out for now

The derby win against Arminia Bielefeld (2:1) is marred by bitter news for third division club Preußen Münster. Sebastian Mrowca is out for the time being.

That’s bitter news for Preußen Münster. In the last action of the game against Arminia Bielefeld (2:1), defensive midfielder Sebastian Mrowca tore his collateral ligament and will be out of action. Coach Sascha Hildmann made the announcement at the press conference ahead of the away match at FC Ingolstadt on Wednesday, January 23, 7 p.m. “It happened in the last action. That’s very bitter, we’ll miss him. Thomas Kok is also still out.”

Hildmann warned against the Schanzers, who are strong at home and have a good attack. “We’ll have to put up a lot of good tackles, be alert and always on the ball,” he said, setting out the game plan: “We want to be brave in Ingolstadt and win again, just like against Bielefeld. We were a bit cautious against Bielefeld at the start, but were very courageous at the back. We want to play like we did in the last 30 minutes in Ingolstadt.”

In addition to Mrowca, who has played in 18 of 20 third division matches, there are likely to be further changes. “We’ll talk to the players again to see how they feel. But we will rotate, because I’m convinced that we can’t play three games with the same team. We also want to keep an eye on Sunday’s game,” announced Hildmann.

In that game on Sunday, January 28, 1:30 p.m., Rot-Weiss Essen will come to Hammer Straße. The game is already sold out (11,744 spectators). There are no more tickets available in the Prussians’ online ticket store. Münster, who pushed Bielefeld further towards the relegation places with their derby win, will be looking to add to their tally against Ingolstadt and RWE and have as little to do with the relegation battle as possible. RWE, on the other hand, are in fifth place and have their sights set on third place even after the 1:2 in Aue. Coach Christoph Dabrowski’s team still have the catch-up match against TSV 1860 Munich up their sleeve
