RWE trio must currently pass – test players no longer an issue for the time being

Rot-Weiss Essen are currently preparing for their next test match and the upcoming training camp in the Netherlands

After the 5:0 win over regional league side SG Schönebeck and 4:1 against Oberliga side ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen, the quality of the test match opponent is being increased

On Sunday (July 14, 1 p.m., Forecasting live ticker), third-division side Rot-Weiss Essen will face the fourth-tier Regionalliga-Südwest side of Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim. TSG’s U23s are coached by former RWE player and youth coach Vincent Wagner.

The match will take place at the Jahnstadion in Bottrop. Robbie D’Haese, Aaron Manu and Moussa Doumbouya were actually supposed to play in Essen’s next test match. However, the trio have to miss out – as they have done throughout the entire training week

Manu has a cold and Doumbouya has been struggling with groin problems for a few days. D’Haese received a blow to his arm, which was broken three months ago, in the test against Schönebeck and felt pain. He was rested during the current training week and should be back in action on Monday (July 15).

And, of course: Manu and Doumbouya currently provide little to no arguments to arouse the interest of another club. As is well known, the duo, like Andreas Wiegel, no longer play a sporting role despite having valid RWE contracts until the summer of 2025.

Rot-Weiss Essen: Test player Suheyel Najar not an issue for the time being

Test player Suheyel Najar was also unable to take part in the current training week. The attacking midfielder is struggling with muscular problems. Coach Christoph Dabrowski would have liked to keep an eye on the high-class player for a few more days. At the moment, Najar does not seem to be an issue. He may be a candidate for the next few weeks of training.

In addition to RWE, Najar also introduced himself to Alemannia Aachen. According to information from Forecasting, regional league side Kickers Offenbach have also put out feelers for him. For now, however, the 28-year-old is tied to FC Viktoria Köln until June 30, 2025.

In any case, Rot-Weiss Essen will be heading to a training camp in Arnhem in the Netherlands from Tuesday, July 16 until the weekend. Forecasting will also be there to report on the red-and-white camp
