On Saturday, the derby between Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen took place in the U19 Lower Rhine League. The spectators did not see a winner.

The U19 Lower Rhine League teams of Rot-Weiss Essen and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen separated with 0:0. It remains the case that RWE is six points ahead of RWO in the table.

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen did not hide at all at the favored RWE. From the start, the team of new head coach Rafael Garcia, who had only taken over for Daniel Balk on Friday, came out boldly and confidently.

After just seven minutes, the first RWO chance came when the advanced left-back of Oberhausen Ozan Hot brought a cross from the left side sharply into the opponent’s penalty area, Daniel Raul just missed in the center with his head.

Rot-Weiss Essen tried to make the game and also came through Jan Friessner (12th), Etienne-Noel Reck (15th) or Ahmed Etri (18th) to scoring chances, but they were thwarted by the Oberhausen defense or goalkeeper Luis Plath.

However, the best chance to score in the first half belonged to the visitors: Leon Koch, Essen’s goalkeeper, fouled an Oberhausen player in the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty kick. Koch made good his mistake and parried the penalty by Ozan Hot (28.) very strong. With the zero number it also went into the break.

The first chance in the second half belonged to the guests. Hot (55.) circled a free kick dangerously on the Essener housing, in which Koch could distinguish himself.

In the direct counterattack, the Essen team had its best chance. Yasin Pirnal played a sweet pass into the top right into the foot of Milot Ademi. In a one-on-one, however, Ademi (58th) failed to beat the onrushing RWO goalkeeper Plath.

The teams exchanged open blows without producing any major chances. It remained a draw in the duel between the two U19 Bundesliga relegated teams.
