Most recently, Felix Geisler played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen’s U19 team. Now the young striker is moving to the Oberliga Niederrhein.
Felix Geisler spent last season with the U19 team of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. Now it has been decided at which club the 19-year-old wants to take his first steps in senior football.
Geisler is moving to SV Sonsbeck in the Oberliga Niederrhein. The young attacker successfully tried out for last year’s promoted team, which finished tenth in its first Fifth League season, and signed a contract a few days ago.
The same goes for Sanjin Vrebac. The 23-year-old had been club-less for a while. Previously, the attacking midfielder played in the Austrian 3rd division as well as the Singapore first division. “Both players convinced the coaching team and are expected to provide even more offensive power in the upcoming Oberliga season,” the club wrote. “We warmly welcome both of them to SVS.”
Geisler had moved to RWO a year ago from the youth team of 1. FC Saarbrücken. He was part of the cloverleaves’ regular squad and played in all 15 games of the U19 Bundesliga West. Geisler scored one goal, but was unable to avoid Oberhausen’s relegation from the highest junior division.
Nine Newcomers at SV Sonsbeck
Now he will continue his career with Sonsbeck, who start the new Oberliga season on 13 August against Sportfreunde Baumberg. In addition to Geisler and Vrebac, there are seven other newcomers to the club from the Lower Rhine.
They are Jona Scholz (1. FC Bocholt), Christoph Elspaß (Sportfreunde Broekhuysen), Malik Bongers (TSV Wachtendonk), Jannik Hinsenkamp (SC St. Tönis), Niklas Binn, Lars van Schyndel (both TuS Xanten) and Conner Wastian (TSV Meerbusch U19).
Meanwhile, Ahma Alzedaue (SGE Bedburg-Hau), Julian Klement, Marvin von Zabiensky (both Spvgg. Sterkrade-Nord), Noah Andich (VfB Speldorf) and Tim Weichelt (career end) will no longer play for Sonsbeck.
