Rot-Weiß Oberhausen is in the bottom of the table in the U19 Bundesliga West. Almost all teams are still close together, but Markus Kaya knows about the difficult situation of his U19s.
The U19 Juniors of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen have slipped to a relegation place due to the 1:2 defeat against SC Verl. Markus Kaya was anything but happy with the performance of his boys.
The coach sees the fluctuations between further development and stagnation as extreme: “Against Verl, the basic basics were simply missing and I have to be able to expect that from my boys.” An improvement is urgently needed for the next matchday.
Three wins, five defeats, nine points, eight goals and 14 conceded. That is the RWO U19’s record after eight of 15 games played in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga West. As in the previous season, the goal for the A-youth players of the Kleeblätter is to stay in the league.
Last season, they managed to stay in the league on the penultimate matchday, but this year they should do it sooner if possible. Kaya knows, however, that his U19s are currently in a difficult situation: “We know that we have to fight until the last day. That’s why a win against Verl would have been enormously important so that we have a good basis.”
Half of the season is over and everyone is still close together in the standings, with only VfB Hilden, who are still without points, trailing somewhat behind. So nothing has been decided yet. Oberhausen in twelfth place and Bayer Leverkusen in fourth place are separated by just five points.
RWO: Show a different face in Paderborn
For RWO, the seven remaining games, with the exception of the games against Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04, are against direct rivals. On Saturday, RWO are first guests at SC Paderborn (12 November, 1pm), who are currently seventh with twelve points from eight games. “We hope to show a different attitude on the next matchday in Paderborn, but it’s just that fluctuating,” the coach looks ahead to the upcoming task, which will not be an easy one.
Paderborn’s youngsters celebrated a late 3:2 victory against VfL Bochum on matchday eight. The following week (Saturday, 19 November, 11 a.m.), Fortuna Düsseldorf will then be the guests at the Stadion Niederrhein.
