S04 opponent steps up – “Squad planning for field players complete”

Lokomotive Leipzig has strengthened its squad ahead of Sunday’s DFB Cup clash with Schalke 04. The new signing doesn’t have far to travel.

Lokomotive Leipzig is ready for Schalke 04. On Sunday, August 17, at 3:30 p.m., the Royal Blues will be guests at the Bruno-Plache-Stadion in Probstheida. Pepe Böhm could also be on the opposing side.

The 19-year-old is coming on a free transfer. His contract with RB Leipzig, where he most recently played for the U19 team, expired on July 1, 2025. “With Pepe, we have signed a well-trained and promising defensive player from the region who can play both center back and defensive midfield. We want to give him the opportunity to develop and get used to men’s football,“ said sporting director Toni Wachsmut, commenting on the new arrival. Böhm himself said: ”I am delighted to be part of 1. FC Lok Leipzig with immediate effect! I will give everything to help the team achieve its goals. I’m looking forward to a successful time and, of course, to the fans at the Bruno-Plache-Stadion.”

He may make his debut against Schalke 04. Lok Leipzig announced that its squad planning for field players is now complete.
