BVB and VfL Bochum are both without two suspended players. An overview.
The leagues are entering the final spurt. There is still something at stake for almost all of the clubs in the top three leagues. Every suspension, every absence can hurt. Here is an overview of the suspended players for the coming weekend.
VfL Bochum – TSG Hoffenheim
It’s still all about sporting survival for VfL Bochum. After many winless games, a home win against TSG Hoffenheim is required on Friday, otherwise relegation or direct relegation still looms.
However, coach Heiko Butscher will be without Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Patrick Osterhage against Hoffenheim. Both are out after picking up a fifth yellow card in Wolfsburg.
RB Leipzig – BVB
Fourth place is at stake in this direct duel between fourth and fifth. BVB will be without Emre Can and Ian Maatsen. Both were shown a fifth yellow card in the 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
Schalke 04 – Fortuna Düsseldorf
While nobody is suspended for Schalke, Fortuna will be without suspended central defender Jamil Siebert, who has played 22 games so far this season.
Saarbrücken – RWE
Rot-Weiss Essen didn’t have to complain about another suspension after the 2:0 at Waldhof Mannheim. But Saarbrücken did. Marcel Gaus will be missing against RWE. The FCS regular picked up his fifth yellow card in the 1-1 draw at 1860 Munich.
As RWE have to play again on Sunday (13:30), Torben Müsel, Vinko Sapina and Eric Voufack are three players who will have to miss the game with a further caution. Sapina will be absent injured in Saarbrücken, Voufack has just recovered from an injury, so only Müsel will be in the starting eleven and will have to be careful accordingly.
RWE – FC Ingolstadt
No FC Ingolstadt player will miss the game in Essen due to a yellow card suspension.
MSV – Sandhausen
With Alaa Bakir, Marvin Knoll, Jonas Michelbrink, Robin Müller, Thomas Pledl, Kolja Pusch, Marvin Senger and Niclas Stierlin, eight more players are suspended for a next yellow card. However, none of the MSV players will be suspended against Sandhausen.
BVB II – Erzgebirge Aue
Only Franz Pfanne will be missing for BVB II due to his yellow card suspension
