SC Verl has strengthened its full-back position. A notable addition, as the new man comes from record champions Bayern Munich.
SC Verl has loaned right-back Max Scholze from FC Bayern Munich for the coming season.
“Max is an extremely talented player with excellent training. He is a strong runner, technically adept and delivers dangerous crosses. The 3rd division is exactly the right step for Max. We are very pleased to welcome him to our team,” said Sebastian Lange, sporting director of Sportclub Verl.
Scholze, who made 30 appearances for FC Bayern Munich II in the Bavarian regional league last season (three assists), previously extended his contract with the German record champions until the summer of 2027.
Max came to our boarding school five years ago and we are very pleased with his development during this time.

“Max came to our boarding school five years ago and we are very pleased with his development during this time. Last season, he delivered consistently good performances as an U19 player with our amateurs, and now it’s time for the next challenge in professional soccer. Like all our loan players, we will be following Max very closely at his station in Verl and wish him every success there,” emphasized Jochen Sauer, Munich’s Director of Youth Development.
Scholze joined FC Bayern Campus in the summer of 2019 from the Dynamo Dresden academy and has since played for all youth teams from U15 upwards, including nine games for the U19s in the Junior Bundesliga and Youth League.
Last season, he finally made the leap to the men’s team. His development was rewarded with a place on the bench of Thomas Tuchel’s Bundesliga squad on the final matchday against TSG Hoffenheim (no appearance).
Scholze is now set to take the next steps in the 3rd division
