The head coach search at SC Wiedenbrück is over. The new man comes from VfL Holsen from the district league.
Thomas Stratos is the new head coach of regional league side SC Wiedenbrück. The club made the announcement on Thursday evening, June 13. Stratos comes to the Regionalliga West from district league club VfL Holsen. With Holsen, he was relegated to the Kreisliga A.
“We are convinced that we have found the ideal coach for our team in Thomas Stratos. His expertise, commitment and existing connections to the club will help us to achieve our sporting goals,” said Wiedenbrück’s sporting director Oliver Zech.
Thomas Stratos himself is looking forward to his new role: “I’m really looking forward to the challenge at SC Wiedenbrück and to building on the successes of my first term of office. I can hardly wait to start working with the team and the coaching staff.”
His first tenure dates back to the years 2008 to 2012, when he was already head coach at Wiedenbrück. Back then, he scored an average of 1.56 points in 113 games. In the past, the 57-year-old has also been under contract with clubs such as Fortuna Köln, where he was coach and sporting director, Jahn Regensburg and SC Verl (assistant coach).
The Greek has also held positions in his home country. For example as assistant coach at Iraklis or as assistant coach of the national team. Most recently, he has been on the sidelines as head coach at district league club VfL Holsen since October 2023.
Most recently, SC Wiedenbrück had already presented new assistant coaches: Mariusz Rogowski and Tobias Brockschnieder will take on these roles. Rogowski once played for SCW himself and therefore already has plenty of experience in the regional league in the form of 304 appearances. Most recently, he was coach of the second team.
Brockschnieder has been part of the Regionalliga team for some time and will continue in his role as scout and squad planner. He also brings strategic insights and skills with him. His analysis and planning in particular have already helped the team
