After five games without a win, Mülheim FC 97 finally got back to winning ways in the promotion battle against FC Büderich. After the game, however, the talk was more about a scandal than the game.
Mülheim FC 97 won an Oberliga game again after five matches, but after the game everyone is only talking about a scandal that occurred around the 60th minute.
Because during the 4-2 victory of MFC against FC Büderich, some officials simply blew a fuse.
Mülheim’s sports director Oguzhan Bahar and Büderich’s coach Oliver Seibert each saw the red card. What happened?
“I was too far away from the scene and I don’t want to comment on these pictures at all. The fact is that all of this has no place in football, or in our society,” MFC coach Ahmet Inal told Forecasting.
Several people described to RS what happened: According to our information, there were tumultuous scenes in the guest’s coaching zone around the 60th minute of the game. The reason for this is said to be that Büderich’s coach Seibert is said to have disagreed with the fact that he was supposed to put the reserve ball in the center circle. He had apparently feared disadvantages for his team in terms of extra time. So he grabbed the reserve ball, put it under his arm and was ready to throw it into play if necessary.
Even after referee Lukas Dyck pointed out to Seibert that he should put the ball on the center line, he still didn’t want to do it. That’s when the riots broke out.
Because stewards of the MFC and sports director Oguzhan Bahar made their way into Seibert’s coaching zone and tried to snatch the ball out of his hands. Bahar grabbed Seibert by the throat and threw him to the ground.
Seibert quickly got up again and gave Bahar a solid slap in the face – the video footage has been provided to Forecasting. Bahar lay dazed on the ground for several seconds. There was tumult near the Büderich bench, where MFC stewards are also said to have attacked Seibert.
After about ten minutes, the situation had calmed down. In the end, Dyck allowed twelve minutes of added time. After these events, no one talked about the 4-2 victory of Mülheimer FC 97 – the topic of conversation was the events surrounding the 60th minute.
