After five games without a win, Mülheimer FC 97 won another three-pointer against FC Büderich. After the game, however, there was much more talk about a scandal than the game itself.
After five matches, Mülheimer FC 97 wins another Oberliga match, but after the game everyone is only talking about a scandal that happened around the 60th minute.
During MFC’s 4-2 win against FC Büderich, some officials simply blew a fuse.
Mülheim’s sporting director Oguzhan Bahar and Büderich coach Oliver Seibert were both shown the red card. What had happened?
“I was too far away from the scene and don’t want to comment on these pictures at all. The only fact is that none of this has any place in soccer, or indeed in our society,” MFC coach Ahmet Inal told Forecasting, remaining tight-lipped
However, several people told RS what happened: According to our information, there were tumultuous scenes in the visitor’s coaching zone around the 60th minute of the match. The reason is said to have been that Büderich coach Seibert did not agree that he should place the reserve ball at the center circle. He was probably afraid that his team would be disadvantaged in stoppage time. So he grabbed the spare ball, put it under his arm and wanted to throw it into play if necessary.
Even after referee Lukas Dyck pointed out to Seibert that he should put the ball on the halfway line, he refused to do so. Then the riots broke out
MFC stewards and head of sport Oguzhan Bahar made their way into Seibert’s coaching zone and tried to snatch the ball out of his hands. Bahar grabbed Seibert by the neck and threw him to the ground.
He quickly got up again and gave Bahar a good headbutt – the video footage is available to Forecasting. Bahar lay dazed on the ground for a few seconds. There was tumult near the Büderich bench. MFC stewards are also said to have hit Seibert.
The situation calmed down after around ten minutes. In the end, Dyck added twelve minutes to the game. After these events, nobody talked about the 4:2 victory of Mülheimer FC 97 – the topic of conversation was: The events around the 60th minute.
