Schalke 04 have signed their U17 talent Taylan Bulut to a development contract until June 2025. The right-back is captain of the B Juniors around coach Onur Cinel.
FC Schalke 04 has signed a long-term contract with an U17 player. Taylan Bulut has signed a development contract, which is valid until 30 June 2025. In addition, the Königsblauen have an option to extend the contract for another year and turn it into a licence player contract.
“We are very happy that Taylan is extending his contract with us in the long term and sees his future at Schalke,” commented Knappenschmiedendirektor Mathias Schober on the signing of the contract. “He is characterised not only by his enormous tackling strength, but also by the fact that he can be used flexibly in defence. Taylan has been named captain of the U17s this season: This shows that he is also already very far along in his personality development and is leading the way on the pitch.”
Bulut has been playing for the Königsblauen since the summer of 2020. At that time, the right-back moved to S04 from Bayer Leverkusen’s youth development centre. The 16-year-old, who has already been on the pitch for the German U16 and U17 national teams, has already made nine full-distance appearances for head coach Onur Cinel’s side this season. Last season, the team won the German championship.
Last week, Assan Ouedraogo had already signed a development contract with the Schalke team. The 16-year-old has been playing for head coach Norbert Elgert’s U19 team since the beginning of the season. He is the son of former RWO and RWE professional Alassane Ouedraogo. In addition, Max Grüger had already extended his contract.
