Schwolow missing from first session – trio train individually

Schalke start their training camp in Turkey. Goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow can only watch.

When FC Schalke 04 completed their first training session in Belek (Turkey) early on Monday evening, the 20 or so fans present were allowed to take a look at the first Schalke newcomer: Niklas Tauer (21), is on loan to Gelsenkirchen from Mainz 05 and is supposed to strengthen the defensive midfield. Now he wore the royal blue kit for the first time.

However, Alexander Schwolow was not on the pitch. The goalkeeper is suffering from a stomach bug. The club officials hope that he will be able to start training in the next few days. After completing the warm-up programme with their colleagues, Thomas Ouwejan, Sepp van den Berg and Alex Kral each completed individual programmes after their injuries.

The injured Rodrigo Zalazar and Leo Greiml did not travel to the training camp. The duo is making progress but will not be able to train with the ball in the coming days, which is why the officials refrained from taking them with them to Belek.
