Sebastian Amendt – With frustration into the game against the home club.

Sebastian Amendt, coach of FC Kray, is satisfied after the last two games. Even though they lost in the cup, things are supposed to go uphill in the Landesliga.

After 95 minutes, FC Kray lost 3:5 against SSVg Velbert in the Lower Rhine Cup.

Five goals conceded, which left Sebastian Amendt, coach of the Essen-based Landesliga club, somewhat perplexed: “I would almost have said that Velbert won without having created any chances. Of course, that’s a bit difficult to say with five goals against.”

Overall, however, Amendt was satisfied with his squad’s performance: “By and large, we delivered what I set out to do for the team.”

Indeed, the Krayers stood stable with their five-man backline for large parts of the game, but Velbert was uncommonly cold-blooded and took advantage of almost every opportunity for a goal, favored by “very simple mistakes that then just lead to goals.” Amendt, however, drew courage from the performances against Velbert and also in the longed-for victory on the last matchday against SpVgg Steele. The coach stressed, “I expect the team to understand how to bring this defensive passion onto the pitch every week. That has to be our way. The main thing now is to put an end to the individual mistakes. I hope that the game against Velbert was a learning effect. I hope we can turn the frustration into points on Sunday. “

I have a very personal connection with the next opponent. It’s my home club, I spent my entire youth there and also played a few years in the seniors there.

In the next three match days, the eighth-placed team in the Landesliga will face teams that are ahead of the Krayers. However, Amendt does not want to look too far ahead: “We look from game to game. We want to win every game, of course. But the opponents will challenge us. I have a very personal connection with the next opponent. That’s my home club, I spent my entire youth there and also played a few years in the seniors there.”
The talk is of Blau-Weiß Dingden. They are guests in the Kray Arena on Sunday. Dingden could not win in the last two games. FC Kray will try to extend this series.
