Türkspor-Dortmund coach Sebastian Tyrala is coaching the Las Ligas Ladies in the second season of the Baller League. The indoor soccer league is streamed live on the internet every week.
The Baller League soccer project, founded by world champions Lukas Podolski and Mats Hummels, started its second season on July 22. The indoor soccer league takes place on Monday evenings and is streamed live on the internet.
A total of twelve teams take part. At the end of the regular season, the final table decides which teams will play for the championship in the playoffs. In the first season, the final took place in front of 12,000 spectators at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf.
The first matchday of the second season was watched live by an average of 72,000 viewers via the Twitch platform. Each team has prominent managers who put together the squad. Over 16,000 amateur players applied to take part.
Managers include world champion Christoph Kramer, Max Kruse and Kevin-Prince Boateng. But other well-known personalities such as comedian Felix Lobrecht and musician Kontra K also form a manager team.

In the second season of the Baller League, Sebastian Tyrala, coach of the Regionalliga promoted team Türkspor Dortmund, is also a new member. The 36-year-old coach was promoted to the Regionalliga West with Türkspor last year. In addition to this job, he now coaches the Las Ligas Ladies in the indoor soccer league.
Professional footballers Selina Cerci (TSG Hoffenheim) and Ana Maria Marković (Grasshopper Club Zürich) form the face of the team. Tyrala has been on the sidelines since July 22. According to the coach, there will be no problems with his main job.
Tyrala gives the all-clear
“It’s only a very small amount of work. The games always take place on Monday evenings. We always have a day off with Türkspor. Our squad in the Baller League doesn’t train, they only meet on match days. It’s not a problem,” explained Sebastian Tyrala.
Türkspor Dortmund was already heavily involved in the first season of the Baller League. Some of the Dortmund players played in the indoor league on Monday evenings. That’s how Tyrala got his part-time job.
“The boys told me that a coaching position had become available. That’s how I got in touch with the league. It was a bit of a coincidence, but I was immediately keen,” says the coach.
In addition to amateur footballers, there are also former professional footballers on the pitch. Including Felix Bastians, the former captain of Rot-Weiss Essen, and ex-Schalke player Marc Rzatkowski.
“It was a really cool thing. It’s a bit like a class reunion and you get to meet interesting new people. I talked a lot with Kramer and Neuhaus. They really know their soccer. But there were also old acquaintances like Felix Bastians and Marco Terrazzino there,” said Tyrala.
