Seven more players could leave the club

VfL Bochum is still looking for a central defender. On the other hand, seven players could still leave Castroper Straße.

VfL Bochum will kick off the new Bundesliga soccer season on Saturday (August 19, 15:30) at VfB Stuttgart. Until then, things can still go well on the transfer market, especially on the departure side. An overview of the seven players who could still leave the club.

Erhan Masovic (contract until June 30, 2025): Spartak Moscow are said to have the defender on their books, the 24-year-old center-back has the highest market value at VfL with eight million euros. VfL is not yet aware of the interest from Moscow. Should a club actually offer eight to ten million, VfL will negotiate, because no player is unsaleable at such sums.

Moritz Römling (contract until June 30, 2024): The left-back doesn’t stand much of a chance of getting any playing time at VfL. His contract expires in a year, and his last loan to third-division club Rot-Weiss Essen was very bumpy – also due to several injuries.

Jordi Osei-Tutu (contract until June 30, 2025): He has great competition on the right side. In a three-man system, he would be player number three at most on his side. Therefore, it would only be logical for the speedy Osei-Tutu to look around on the transfer market.

Jacek Goralski (contract until June 30, 2024): Also entering his final year at VfL, he plays virtually no role with coach Thomas Letsch. Since he has been in Bochum, he has struggled with injuries. So far, a single misunderstanding.

Gerrit Holtmann (contract until June 30, 2025): He is said to be on the verge of a loan to Turkey. He is currently not number one in his position, so he wants to change. This will happen shortly.

Luis Hartwig (contract until June 30, 2024): The attacker knows that he may change clubs. He has little chance of playing at VfL. Therefore, he will certainly still change clubs in the summer.

Lys Mousset (contract until June 30, 2024): Also a very big misunderstanding. Most recently he was loaned to Nîmes Olympique, where he scored once in eleven appearances. Everyone involved will be happy if the chapter can be closed.
