MSV Duisburg visit Dynamo Dresden on Wednesday evening. SGD coach Markus Anfang has this to say ahead of the game.
Last matchday was a perfect one for Dynamo Dresden. The Saxons celebrated a 3:1 victory at Borussia Dortmund’s U23 and are now unbeaten for ten games.
Similarly impressive to this streak: the fan support in Dortmund. 7249 supporters were present at Signal-Iduna-Park. That meant a new away record in the 3rd division.
It resonated with coach Markus Anfang. “A big thank you for the support and the support. It was madness and a goose bump when you looked into the corner,” he said at the press conference before the home game against MSV Duisburg on Wednesday evening (7pm, RS live ticker).
Anfang was also pleased with his team’s performance recently, saying they had shown “passion and emotion”, although the coach stressed ahead of the clash with Duisburg: “You don’t get anything for the last game, we have to work hard for everything. “
The 48-year-old was under contract as a professional with the Zebra s from 2004 to 2006 – and warns against his ex-club. MSV have “an insane amount of quality” and “some players with second and even Bundesliga experience in their ranks”, said Anfang. “Duisburg have shown a lot of morale in the last few games, it will be a tough task for us, but there are always new challenges to come.”
As in the past, Anfang will have to do without Luca Herrmann, Jongmin Seo, Michael Akoto and Kyrylo Melichenko on Wednesday evening. According to the club, Jonathan Meier, Robin Becker and Niklas Hauptmann are doubtful to play, while Paul Will, who has been injured lately, could make his comeback.
