After the 21st matchday, SG Wattenscheid can still hope to stay up in the Oberliga Westfalen.
In the first half of the 21st matchday of the Oberliga Westfalen, it initially looked as if goals would remain in short supply on most pitches. Four games alone went into half-time without a goal. After that, however, the teams picked themselves up and delivered.
The biggest win of the matchday came from the bottom of the table. SG Wattenscheid 09 prevailed 4:0 (1:0) against FC Brünninghausen. As a result, the team from Wattenscheid are once again sniffing the morning air in the relegation battle. FCB only had a few chances and are now in last place.
There was less to cheer about for the teams in the top three of the table. Sportfreunde Lotte had already lost 1-0 to Türkspor Dortmund on Saturday, but there was nothing for the top teams to celebrate on Sunday either.
Leaders ASC 09 Dortmund were beaten 3-0 by SpVgg Erkenschwick. SV Schermbeck at least picked up a point against Eintracht Rheine. However, neither team managed to score a goal.
TuS Bövinghausen, meanwhile, must continue to look down. They suffered a 2-0 defeat against Westfalia Rhynern. As a result, the Dortmund side have now gone five games without a win. Of these, there has only been one in the last ten games.
TSG Sprockhövel drew 1-1 with SG Finnentrop/Bamenohl. Not enough for Sprockhövel, who remain within reach of the relegation places
Victoria Clarholz celebrated an important win in the basement of the table. The third lead in the 4:2 win against TuS Ennepetal finally held. Sebastian Westerhoff’s team had equalized twice beforehand.
Sportfreunde Siegen were able to celebrate a 2:0 victory against SpVgg Vreden. A double strike after the break secured the three-pointer.
SC Preußen Münster II, meanwhile, beat 1. FC Gievenbeck 3:1 to move up to fifth place
