Only one match was played on Sunday in the Oberliga Westfalen. TuS Bövinghausen were able to end a negative streak against SpVgg Vrede.
TuS Bövinghausen only had to share the attention on matchday 16 of the Oberliga Westfalen with SpVgg Vreden on Sunday. The remaining matches were victims of the weather conditions and some were called off early.
Dortmund initially did everything they could to justify this attention. After just under a quarter of an hour, it was Jeron El-Hazaimeh who gave Bövinghausen the lead (14′). The defender’s desire to score goals seemed to have taken hold of him. Just seven minutes later, he made it 2:0 (21). It was the 31-year-old’s fifth goal of the season.
Bövinghausen wanted to go into the break with a two-goal lead. Vreden had something against it and scored the equalizer through Leon Kondring (43) before the half-time whistle from referee Leonidas Exuzidis
But coach Baris Özbek’s team didn’t let that put them off their stride. Marcus Piossek restored the lead quickly after the break with a goal to make it 3:1 (51′). This time, Al-Hazaimeh set up the goal.
This lead was not to last until the end of the game. Maximilian Hinkelmann (70) reduced the deficit again for Vreden. However, the result did not change after that.
TuS Bövinghausen were thus able to record a win for the first time in four league games and are ninth in the table.
The Dortmund side continue their campaign next Friday. They then travel to SV Schermbeck (December 8, 7 p.m.). SVS recently defeated leaders Sportfreunde Lotte 3:2. SpVgg Vreden will host ASC 09 Dortmund (December 10, 2:30 p.m.)
