Special jersey for the derby against RWE – Here’s what it looks like

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen vs. Rot-Weiss Essen: There will be a special RWO jersey for the Lower Rhine Cup derby.

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen will take to the field in a special jersey for the Niederrhein Cup derby against Rot-Weiss Essen on Saturday, October 11, at 2 p.m.

The shirt is a simple red, with the iconic shamrock incorporated into the flocked back number. “This jersey not only represents the sporting rivalry between two traditional clubs, but is also a symbol of the bond between partners and the club,” the club said. RWO also announced: “The jersey chest features the logo of Nottenkämper, a long-standing partner and close companion of the club. The deep roots between RWO and Nottenkämper are also reflected in this season’s cup sponsorship. König Pilsener will be featured on the back of the jersey – a brand that, like RWO, stands for Ruhr area charm, passion, and genuine soccer culture. König Pilsener has been loyal to the Kleeblätter for many years and is now also supporting RWO in the cup derby. The Reisemobil-Center Essen completes the trio of sponsors on the special jersey as the sleeve sponsor. The company was already present as a sponsor on last season’s special jerseys for the semi-final duel and is continuing its commitment this Saturday.

RWO coach Sebastian Gunkel has already made it clear to this editorial team what caliber of opponent Oberhausen will be facing. Third division team Rot-Weiss Essen is, of course, the clear favorite.

“We are expecting a top opponent. Essen is very compact and has a good box presence. It won’t be easy to create chances. But we want to do everything we can to win this game. To do that, we need a great performance and great support. And, yes, Essen has to have a slightly worse day. We will work to make sure they have such a day in Oberhausen.”
