Hallesche FC is in the midst of a relegation battle in the 3rd division. Their sporting director Ralf Minge has now announced reinforcements in an interview with the Bild newspaper.
Hallesche FC is spending the winter in a non-relegation spot this year. However, their situation is not really rosy. After all, coach André Meyer’s team is level on points with VfB Oldenburg and FSV Zwickau, who occupy the first relegation spot. After all, the goal difference of just -2 is in their favour.
In an interview with the Bild-Zeitung, sporting director Ralf Minge makes it clear what he demands of the team: “Every individual should add something to their role and reflect on how they add value to the team.”
And on this subject, the team is currently investigating whether new arrivals will not be necessary. Above all, a new defender is being sought. The HFC board has already given the green light for this position, as former professional Minge confirmed to Bild: We have drawn up a list and presented it with all the pros and cons. The only important thing is: a new guy should make the team better. These issues will now be worked through.”
So a decision is not necessarily to be expected soon. The same applies to him and coach Meyer. Both contracts expire at the end of the season. There is no hurry for the third-division relegation candidates regarding a possible contract extension, says Minge: “That is an overriding issue. Our full concentration is on staying in the league. Individual fates clearly take a back seat. These talks will have to wait until the presidium says: here we go.
And with the players, too, there will be no long-term extensions any time soon. Especially since most of them will continue to play in the 3rd Division in the coming season: “The perspective for the players is certainly decisive. At the moment, the sporting situation is not playing into our cards. But I can assure you that informal talks are ongoing.”
At the end of the training camp in Antalya, Turkey, HFC won their only test match against the talents of Antalyaspor on Tuesday with 6:0. Goal scorers were Andor Bolyki (2), Dominik Steczyk (2), Aaron Herzog and Sebastian Müller. Hallesche FC will start in the 3rd division on 14 January with an away match at Rot-Weiss Essen.
