Second division Preußen Münster finally wants to get the longed-for first three points at home. Will a striker provide the feeling of success?
While Preußen Münster was working on the fine-tuning for the upcoming matches during the international break, one player gained a good dose of self-confidence. We’re talking about András Németh.
The loan signing from Hamburger SV, who has been under contract with the Eagles since August 23, was nominated for the international matches of the Hungarian U21 national team. Németh was already nominated in the last call-up period, but decided against the trip because he had just moved to Münster.
Now he was there – and this decision was more than worth it. With Hungary’s U21, the young striker not only celebrated two victories in the European Championship qualification, he also scored a goal in both games. In the 2-1 home win against Malta, he scored with a precise right-footed shot to temporarily put the club 1-0 ahead, and in the following away game in Belgium, he scored the goal to make it 1-0 with a converted penalty.
For the 21-year-old, these were his ninth and tenth goals in the Hungarian U21 team’s jersey. Prussia fans will hope that the attacker will break the deadlock at his new club. So far, Németh is still waiting for his first goal as a Münster player. His record so far: seven competitive games, no goals, two assists.
Will Németh score his first goal against Elversberg?
With new confidence, the most valuable player in the Prussia squad (together with Jorrit Hendrix, both worth €800,000) should now also be able to score goals in the second division. Ideally, as early as Saturday (October 19, 1 p.m.).
Then the second division newcomers will host SV Elversberg. After two narrow defeats in a row, head coach Sascha Hildmann’s team slipped into a relegation spot for the first time. The goal is clear: Münster wants to climb back above the relegation zone with its first home win of the season. Perhaps András Németh can play a key role in this mission.
