FC Schalke 04 Supporters Club has commented on the current situation of the second division club and warned against a return of Clemens Tönnies.
The “FC Schalke 04 Supporters Club” has been in existence since the fall of 1996 and has spoken out from time to time when it feels that things have gotten out of hand.
Ahead of the relegation thriller against Eintracht Braunschweig (Saturday, 1 p.m.), the fan organization issued a fiery appeal to all fans of the Royal Blues. It also warned against the recurring rumors that Clemens Tönnies could be part of the solution to the club’s problems.
“What we have seen of our beloved S04 on the pitch in recent days and weeks is a nice way to describe it,” wrote the fan organization, which has between 850 and 900 members, in a statement on its Facebook page. “But there is also more and more disruptive noise off the pitch, justified and unjustified. “
The Supporters Club, which was founded to represent the interests of Schalke members, spoke out clearly against the return of former supervisory board chairman Clemens Tönnies. “Regardless of criticism of the people currently in charge and their mistakes, it cannot be the solution to now cry out for people who have put us in the situation over the years that we no longer have any money and that we can no longer allow ourselves to make any mistakes,” said the supporters.
“Apart from the fact that an immediate complete change of all club committees would not be possible either in terms of the articles of association or under club law and would therefore not be a solution. It also doesn’t help us in sporting terms in the here and now!”
From now until May, it’s all about saving Schalke from ruin and putting all skirmishes to one side. “Everything that counts now, at this moment, today and in the coming days, weeks and months, and that can still save this club, can only be done on the pitch! All Schalke players must now focus on this, even if it may be difficult. In addition to the sporting crisis, we can’t have any more side issues that distract us from the essentials: staying in the league, no matter what!”
This can only be achieved if all Schalke players stick together. “No matter who, whether club management, fans, any more or less well-known opposition, former officials or players and coaches: everyone must be aware that the only way to save the club is to stay in the league and that we have to focus on that,” said the board and advisory board. Hence their appeal to everyone who cares about Schalke: “Just keep your mouth shut! “Shut up” only to support the team! It may be difficult now, but it’s currently the only option!”
The mistakes can then be dealt with later, when the team has secured its place in the league
