BVB squad for Asia trip confirmed
The squad that Borussia Dortmund will take to Asia has now been announced. It is noteworthy that Giovani Reyna, who is a sales candidate after a weak loan, is on board. Reyna will not be traveling with the team to Bangkok on Friday, but will join the team in Japan on July 22 after his participation in the Copa América.
The plane with the Bundesliga stars will take off from Düsseldorf on Friday and the Borussia squad will arrive in Bangkok on Saturday, where the first test match against Thai first division side BG Pathum United will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. German time (8 p.m. local time).
BVB: Meeting with former player Shinji Kagawa
On Monday, Dortmund will travel on to Japan. The second test match will be played in Osaka on Wednesday (12.15pm German time/7.15pm local time): Coach Nuri Sahin’s team will face Cerezo Osaka in the “EuroJapan Cup”. There will also be a reunion with former BVB player Shinji Kagawa, who has been playing for the club in his home country since the start of 2023. The attacking midfielder was under contract with Dortmund until 2019 and celebrated two league titles with Borussia.
BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer on the Asia tour: “We are happy to continue our tradition of traveling abroad in the summer of 2024. We know about our many fans in Asia, so we’re delighted to be visiting there again this time. And with Bangkok and Osaka, we’ve also found two special venues that we’ve never been to before.”
The trip to Asia ends on Thursday. New signing Serhou Guirassy will not be taking part. VfB Stuttgart’s top striker last season is being treated in Dortmund following a knee injury that was discovered during BVB’s medical check.

Just one week after their return, the Champions League finalists will continue their journey to the training camp: Nuri Sahin will continue to prepare his team in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, ahead of the start of the season on August 10 – including a test match against Spanish club Villarreal CF.
