SV Horst-Emscher introduces new sporting director

SV Horst-Emscher, representative of the Bezriskliga Staffel 9 in Westphalia, has introduced a new sporting director.

Aygün Köstekci will take over the position of sporting director at Bezriksliga club SV Horst-Emscher with immediate effect. This was officially announced by the Gelsenkirchen-based club.

“As the link between the senior players and the board, Aygün will be responsible for squad planning for our first team and for the interests of all four senior teams. In addition, he will be responsible for the women’s team and the transition between the A-youth and senior teams in order to ensure that our trained youth players are well integrated into the senior teams and thus remain loyal to our club in the long term,” according to a press release from the seventh division club.

The SV Horst-Emscher board added: “This means we are fulfilling the wishes of the previous sporting directors, Franco Buso and Uwe Nowitzki, who wanted to step down from their voluntary roles in the summer and wanted a smooth transition for our club. We have now been able to grant them this wish – but both will remain with our club. We would like to express our sincere thanks for their many years of service to the club and wish them both all the best for the future.”

The former Westfalenliga club is now in fifth place in the Bezirksliga following its relegation. At Schollenbruch, there are certainly dreams of a return to the Landesliga. Coach Guido Naumann’s team is in a tight group of six at the top, just five points behind leaders BV Herne-Süd.

Seven wins, two draws, and four losses: that is the Gelsenkirchen team’s record so far. Next Sunday, November 17 (2:30 p.m.), SV Horst-Emscher will travel to FC 96 Recklinghausen for an away game. The hosts are currently in third place, three points ahead of their guests from Gelsenkirchen.
