SV Horst-Emscher presents a new sports director

SV Horst-Emscher, representatives of the Bezriskliga season 9 in Westphalia, has presented a new sporting director.

With immediate effect, Aygün Köstekci will take over the position of sporting director at Bezriksliga club SV Horst-Emscher. This was officially announced by the Gelsenkirchen-based club.

“As a link between the senior team and the board, Aygün will in future take care of the squad planning for our first team, as well as the concerns of all four senior teams. In addition, he is responsible for the women’s team and the transition area between the A-youth and senior teams, in order to ensure our goal of good integration of trained youth players into the senior teams and thus long-term loyalty to our club,” according to a press release from the club.

The board of SV Horst-Emscher went on to explain: “This is in response to the request of the previous sporting directors, Franco Buso and Uwe Nowitzki, who had already planned to step down from their voluntary roles in the summer and wanted a smooth transition for our club. We have now been able to fulfill this wish – both will remain with our club, however. We would like to express our sincere thanks for their many years of service to the club and wish them both all the best for the future.”

The former Westfalenliga club is now in fifth place in the Bezirksliga after being relegated. At Schollenbruch, dreams of a return to the Landesliga are certainly not out of place. Coach Guido Naumann’s team is in a tight top six group, just five points behind leaders BV Herne-Süd.

Seven wins, two draws and four defeats: that is the Gelsenkirchen team’s tally so far. This coming Sunday, November 17 (2:30 p.m.), SV Horst-Emscher will play an away game at FC 96 Recklinghausen. The hosts are currently in third place and are three points ahead of the visitors from Gelsenkirchen.
