Switzerland on track to win group at World Cup after draw with Norway

Switzerland drew 0-0 with Norway to take first place in Group A at the World Cup. New Zealand lost 0:1 to the Philippines, Colombia defeated South Korea 2:0.

Switzerland drew goalless with Norway in its second World Cup match and remains top of Group A with four points. In the match played in Hamilton, New Zealand, goalkeeper Gaëlle Thalmann saved Switzerland from falling behind several times. Thalmann was named best player of the match.

New Zealand is in second place, preceded by a 0-1 loss to the Philippines.

On Sunday (July 30, 9 a.m. Central European Time) the Swiss women will be challenged again, then they will play against New Zealand for the group victory. A draw will be enough for Switzerland to advance to the round of 16.
