SV Rödinghausen is simply doing a good job. This is also proven by the following overview of player and coach development in recent years.
SV Rödinghausen is derided by some traditional clubs, or rather their fans, as a “village club” somewhere in East Westphalia.
But what this club achieves with Alexander Müller as sports director and managing director at the helm is simply phenomenal. The fact that the company “Küchen Häcker” supports the club financially does not change the fact that excellent work is being done in Rödinghausen. After all, the money has to be used wisely.
After the latest transfer of a former Rödinghausen player, namely Omar Haktab Traoré from VfL Osnabrück to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Heidenheim, we took a look at which players and coaches have made their way via SV Rödinghausen into professional football in recent years. To start with: there are a lot of them!
An overview of SV Rödinghausen’s player and coach development:
Marius Bülter: The former Schalke professional once moved from SuS Neuenkirchen to Rödinghausen. Via Magdeburg and Union Berlin, he made it to FC Schalke. After the relegation of the Gelsenkirchen team, he will probably stay in the 1st Bundesliga. TSG Hoffenheim is desperate to sign him.
Haktab Omar Traoré: SV Rödinghausen brought him to the Wiehen from clublessness in January 2018. Via KFC Uerdingen and VfL Osnabrück, his path has now led him to 1. FC Heidenheim in the 1. Bundesliga.
Fabian Kunze: He once came to Rödinghausen from the U17 team of FC Schalke 04 and is now under contract with second-division club Hannover 96.
Leon-Oumar Wechsel: The goalkeeper came to SVR from the U17 of Blau-Weiß Lohne and has now signed a professional contract with Hannover 96.
Ba-Muaka Simakala: He came to Rödinghausen from SV Elversberg, where he was on the sidelines, and shot VfL Osnabrück into the 2. Bundesliga last season with many goals.
Niklas Wiemann: The defensive specialist once moved from Hamburger SV’s U23 to East Westphalia. He is now under contract with VfL Osnabrück, a team promoted to the second division.
Tiago Estevão: Rödinghausen signed this talented goalkeeper from FC Wegberg-Beeck. The Portuguese-born goalkeeper will now continue his career with Borussia Dortmund’s U23 team in the 3rd division.
Lars Lokotsch: The striker, who will be chasing goals for third-division club SC Verl in the coming season, scouted Rödinghausen from FC Herkenrath.
Franz Pfanne: Rödinghausen once brought the current BVB U23 captain as an unknown player from Budissa Bautzen in the Regionalliga Nordost.
Lukas Kunze: The midfielder came from his own U19 team, then moved to VfL Osnabrück, with whom he has now been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga as a regular player.
Enrico Maaßen: Enrico Maaßen was unknown to many when SV Rödinghausen signed him from SV Drochtersen-Assel. Today he is a Bundesliga coach at FC Augsburg.
Sebastian Block: Maassen’s confidant completed his first coaching station after his active career at SV Rödinghausen. Today, he is Maaßen’s co-coach in Augsburg.
