Ten extensions – ex-Schalker comes from the Oberliga

SV Buer can still dream of promotion in the Landesliga Westfalen 3. However, facts are already being created in the squad planning.

SSV Buer is forging ahead with its squad planning for the coming season. The league in which coach Misel Zec’s team will compete is not yet entirely clear. In the Landesliga Westfalen 3, the Red Shirts are still within striking distance of a promotion place to the Westfalenliga. However, promotion is not a must.

The players with whom SSV Buer will start the coming season have now largely been decided. Over the past month and a half, the regional league club has already extended the contracts of ten players: In addition to captain Alper Özgen, Emre Gökkaya, Maurice Hövel, Louis Jozek, Can Bugday, Maurice Weißbohn, Melih Aydin, Mahir Kaya, Kjetil Heinsen and Matthias Kuscha will continue to play for Buer.

The first two new signings for the coming season were also introduced last week. The newest man is Marius Heck. He joins SSV from SpVg Schonnebeck in the Oberliga Niederrhein.

He took his first steps in soccer at Eintracht Trier before moving to FC Schalke 04’s “Knappenschmiede” in the B-youth. The now 23-year-old played a total of 39 games and scored eleven goals for S04 and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the B- and A-Junior Bundesliga. Before moving to the Swallows, he played for TVD Velbert.

“The first time I saw him was in the B-youth against us in the Westphalia Cup, when he was already good and scored the 1:0,” said Zec. “Marius is a striker who is very advanced in terms of tactics and soccer. He will give our offense more variation and penetration. He is still young and wants to play in Buer and develop further.”

The same applies to the other new signing. Mario Scharf is joining the Red Shorts for the coming season from relegation-threatened Westfalenliga side TuS Haltern am See. The 20-year-old is currently completing his first senior season.

“Mario is a young player who still has to find his feet at senior level. He is strong in tackles and has good defensive skills,” said Zec. The coaching team now also want to develop him further
