Terodde – “… that must now be the topic during the week”

Schalke were better than KSC for a long time, but in the end had to “scratch” for the 0:0. Now an away game awaits, can S04 present themselves better than last time at Hannover 96?

So far, the pattern has always been clear for second-division soccer club FC Schalke 04. After a defeat away from home, there was a different face at home and usually a success that helped Schalke to avoid slipping into the basement of the table.

The performance against Karlsruher SC was good for long stretches, but in the end the 0-0 draw only yielded one point. As a result, the Royal Blues still have to worry about staying in the league.

Looking back on the 90 minutes against KSC, Simon Terodde said on Sky afterwards: “We were really good for the first 60 minutes, we should have taken a 1-0 or 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, Patrick Drewes made a really good save in that phase. We knew that Karlsruhe could play freely after the 7:0 against 1. FC Magdeburg. We were superior for a long time, but in the end we had to live with the point. Because we really had to scratch for the point.”

For a long time, everything spoke in favor of coach Karel Geraerts’ team. They had more chances, more shots, but in the end the score was almost even.

Which shows that the visitors had the upper hand in the end. Terodde also put it into perspective: “You have to be critical of the last 30 minutes. “

Whereby the miners were once again able to rely on the crowd, as Terodde also saw it: “It’s clear that it gets restless after a 2:5 (at Hertha BSC, editor’s note). But we always manage to perform better at home. The spectators were there until the end.”

With that, the veteran also ticked off the game and looked ahead. Because now it’s back on the road again, with an away game at Hannover 96 (Sunday, April 7, 1:30 p.m.). The Hanoverians won in Magdeburg, are aiming for third place and will be stepping on the gas accordingly.

Terodde: “Now we’re going to Hannover. We have to perform differently away from home, that has to be the topic during the week. “
