Test match defeat for Ingolstadt, ex-Bochum player shines for Bielefeld

Test match time for the teams of the 3rd division. On Friday, Arminia Bielefeld celebrated a clear victory against Rot Weiss Ahlen, while FC Ingolstadt conceded a significant defeat.

The 3rd division clubs are currently busy testing for the coming season – including the Revier clubs MSV Duisburg and Rot-Weiss Essen. While MSV defeated 1. FC Bocholt 3:1 on Friday and will meet Sportfreunde Hamborn this Saturday (3 p.m., RS-Liveticker), Rot-Weiss Essen will host ETB-Schwarz Weiß (5 p.m., RS-Liveticker).

In addition to MSV, several league rivals were also in action on Friday – including Arminia Bielefeld. After the relegated team had to struggle with teething problems in the first test match a week ago and lost 0:3 against regional league team SV Lippstadt, the Arminen did better this time.

Rot Weiss Ahlen was another team from the Regionalliga West. The final score was 4:0. Man of the day was newcomer Manuel Wintzheimer. The former Bochum player came into the game in the second half and scored a hat-trick. Aygün Yildirim had already taken the lead after five minutes.

Waldhof Mannheim and SSV Ulm also celebrated victories. The Mannheim side also beat Verbandsligisten Fortuna Heddesheim 4-0, while Ulm beat the lower-ranked Würzburger Kickers 2-1.

Ingolstadt loses clearly, Aue narrowly

The Friday test was sobering for FC Ingolstadt. They lost 6-2 against SV Elversberg, a team promoted to the second division. Manuel Feil, Joseph Boyamba, Luca Schnellbacher and Robin Fellhauer were the first players to score in the first half.

In the second half, Fellhauer and Dominik Martinovic increased the score again. Jannik Mause, Ingolstadt’s newcomer from Aachen, and Julian Kügel could only reduce the deficit in the meantime.

Erzgebirge Aue also suffered a defeat. The test against regional league team Lok Leipzig ended with 0:1. Farid Abderrahmane (40th) scored the goal of the day.
