The teams from the Oberliga Niederrhein and Oberliga Westfalen are in the middle of their winter preparations. The test match results from Sunday at a glance.
One day after their surprising exit from the intermediate round of the Essen City Indoor Championships, Bundesliga side ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen got back on track on the big pitch. The second-placed team of the Oberliga Niederrhein won 3:1 (0:1) against Westfalenliga team TuS 05 Sinsen.
Winter signing Bubakarry Fadika and Bilal Akhal had given ETB a 2:0 lead before Yusuf Keskin reduced it for the home side (63rd). However, the Essen team had the better end and Labinot Kryezu scored the final goal in the 89th minute.
SpVg Schonnebeck had already been challenged indoors on Saturday, but had won their group in the intermediate round. And the Essen team also showed good early form in the air. The Tönnies team won 9:1 at Landesliga team VfB Frohnhausen.
Robin Andre Brandner and Kingsley Sinclair each scored twice, and Georgios Ketsatis, Nermin Badnjevic, Max Fleer, Louis Jozek and Vijno Jesic also got on the scoresheet. The consolation goal was scored by Chamdin Said (29th).
TSG Sprockhövel clearly beats Cronenberger SC
TuRU Düsseldorf, on the other hand, did not get back on track at all. The relegation-threatened Düsseldorf team lost 0:2 (0:2) against SV Eintracht Hohkeppel, fifth in the Mittelrheinliga. TuRU’s last win was on 2 October, since when they have only suffered defeats and fallen to 18th place.
In the duel of upper league player against upper league player, the winner came from Westphalia. TSG Sprockhövel beat Cronenberger SC by a clear 4-0 margin, with double winner Duran Deniz (23rd, 83rd), Simon Hendel and Agon Arifi all contributing to the TSG’s away victory. Both teams are fighting to stay in the league: While the Westphalians are separated by two points from the relegation places, Cronenberg is already eleven points away from the relegation zone.
