Test win against Ottensen, Essen brings in 15-year-old goalkeeper

Rot-Weiss Essen won the test match against Teutonia Ottensen. One substitution in particular was not an everyday occurrence.

Rot-Weiss Essen won the first test match during the training camp in Wesendorf against the northern regional league team Teutonia Ottensen with 2:1 (2:0).

Essen’s offensive player Erolind Krasniqi was loaned to Teutonia Ottensen last season. He scored five goals and provided four assists in 18 competitive appearances. The 23-year-old finished the season in fourth place in the table with Ottensen.

He did not play on Wednesday because Krasniqi has no prospects in Essen. The team fielded by coach Christoph Dabrowski started in a 4-4-2 system.

And they almost took the early lead, but Cedric Harenbrock failed to beat the Ottensen keeper after three minutes. Then, after eleven minutes, RWE took the lead. Ekin Celebi crossed into the penalty area. In the end, Sebastian Hertner scored an own goal.

The regional league team was also dangerous on the offensive, but RWE keeper Felix Wienand had to use all his skills against a free kick. RWE were more effective before the break. Torben Müsel scored the 2:0 shortly after this scene.

At half-time, RWE coach Christoph Dabrowski made seven changes. Ottensen got off to a better start in the second 45 minutes, and Tobias Schwede scored the equaliser. Eric Voufack lost the ball in the forward movement and Schwede punished him.
