After his rude tackle in the 3-0 defeat in the test against Preußen Münster, MSV new signing Jihad Boutakhrit is asked to pay. This was Dietmar Hirsch’s conclusion
It was the 104th minute of MSV Duisburg’s test match at SC Preußen Münster (0:3) when Jihad Boutakhrit tackled Lukas Frenkert on the touchline with extreme force and hit the second division player on the ankle. Fortunately, the SCP man was quickly back on his feet. Even though it’s not exactly an everyday occurrence in a test match, the referee had no choice but to send off the MSV new signing with a straight red.
“That costs money,” said Dietmar Hirsch after the game. The action will probably not result in anything more than compliance with the list of penalties and payment into the team’s coffers. Nevertheless, the Duisburg coach was visibly annoyed by his attacking player’s foul. “That was unsportsmanlike and simply stupid. We are weakening ourselves. That shouldn’t happen. Especially not in the championship,” warned the coach.
After the XXL test at the Takko-Stadion in Telgte, Hirsch was at least satisfied with the first 60 minutes, in which the opponents from Hammer Straße fielded a strong team. Aside from the avoidable mistakes of conceding two goals in quick succession, MSV had good spells of possession, played courageously through the center and had some dangerous shots against the promoted second division side.
“We got to grips with the mistakes afterwards. After the many changes at the break, some players reached their limits,” said Hirsch without naming names, justifying the weaker second half without a single chance on goal. “Of course it’s difficult against a second division team, no matter who plays,” Hirsch emphasized, alluding to the fact that some of his players even had to be on the pitch for 100 minutes.
18 outfield players were in the squad on Wednesday. Some, including Tobias Fleckstein, were even substituted again. Even in the fifth test of the summer preparations on Saturday at Bonner SC, there will still not be enough for two different teams in each half. However, Gerrit Wegkamp, Joshua Bitter and Jannik Zahmel continue to make progress and will soon return to team training.
