FC Blau-Gelb Überruhr wants to make a big dream come true this season: promotion to the Landesliga for the club’s 50th anniversary.
The big goal of promotion to the Landesliga by the winter break is four points away for FC Blau-Gelb Überruhr. The Essen-based team is currently in a neck-and-neck race with SV Genc Osman from Duisburg in the Bezirksliga Group 6 in the Lower Rhine region.
In the second half of the season, Überruhr’s coach Murat Aksoy wants to take the team in the fast lane and pass the Landesliga relegated team Genc Osman, in order to be represented in the sixth highest division by the 2025/2026 season. Promotion to the regional league for the 50th anniversary of the club is the big goal of FC Blau-Gelb Überruhr from 1974.
Murat Aksoy on……
the past first half of the season for FC Blau-Gelb Überruhr: “If you consider the points scored, then you have to be satisfied with 42 points. We are. But the four lost points in games like against Tusem Essen or SV Burgaltendorf just hurt and are missed. If we still had these on our credit side, then it would have been an outstanding series, now it was just a very good first round.”
… the best moment of the season so far: “The 2-1 derby victory against SV Burgaltendorf just before the winter break was really nice and also revenge for the bitter 3-3 draw in the first leg. But the best game we played this season was against SC Werden-Heidhausen. That was really a great performance, close to perfection for our possibilities.”
… the worst moment of the season so far: “That was the 3-3 draw against Burgaltendorf. We were leading 3-1 until the 85th minute and were playing with an extra man – and how did the game end? 3-3! That was extremely frustrating, of course, and felt like a defeat.”
… the goals for 2024: “Our goal is definitely to pick up where we left off and, of course, not to lose touch with Genc Osman. The indoor winter league is not a priority for us. We want to do everything we can to ensure that Blau-Gelb Überruhr is promoted to the Landesliga for its 50th anniversary.”
