“The missing piece of the puzzle” – New striker from HSV

Viktoria Köln have strengthened their team and signed a striker from the 2nd Bundesliga.

After the 1:3 start at Waldhof Mannheim, Viktoria Köln have made personnel improvements and signed a new attacker. 22-year-old Robin Meißner joins the team from second-division Hamburger SV.

Meißner is moving to Cologne on loan, his contract with HSV runs until 30 June 2024. “Robin has undoubtedly shown his offensive potential at the professional level, above all his finishing strength. At the same time, it is essential for his further sporting development that he collects as many minutes of action as possible. This was also his express wish, so we see the loan as a promising win-win situation for all parties involved,” explains HSV board member Jonas Boldt.

We think that with Robin Meißner we have found the missing piece of the puzzle in our offensive line.

He should now gain practice one league further down. Viktoria head coach Olaf Janßen emphasises: “We are particularly pleased that we were able to get this transfer over the line as well. We think that with Robin Meißner we have found the missing piece of the puzzle in our offensive. He will give us more options. Robin is a more than highly talented player with a special and dangerous finish. In terms of goal scoring, Robin will give us a lot more. We are glad that he deliberately chose our way and our way of playing Vussball and that we ultimately won the race against numerous competitors.”

As to why the player chose Viktoria, he explained: “The decision to join Viktoria was easy for me. The talks with those responsible and coach Olaf Janßen convinced me immediately. I was immediately hooked on the new task here and am glad that it has worked out now despite the waiting period. I think we can play a good role in the league. You could see in the last few games, but also last season, that there is a lot of potential in the team. I’m looking forward to stepping on the gas now and helping the team to be successful in the end. “
