The Oberliga Westfalen is in a goal-scoring mood again in the first half of the season. An overview of the league’s best offensive duos.
488 goals have been scored in the Oberliga Westfalen so far. A large proportion of these have been scored by Sportfreunde Lotte. With 55 goals, the league leaders not only have the most dangerous offense in the league – they also occupy a top spot in the Forecasting Top 100. According to the coefficients, the sports friends are the fourth-best attacking line of all RS teams with a value of 14.559. The women’s regional league team of VfL Bochum is at the top of this statistic.
Lotte forwards Marc Heider and Halil Can Dogan have been the main contributors to this tally. Together, they have scored 21 goals this season, with the pair also providing 11 assists. This makes them not only the most dangerous strikers in their club, but also in the league. But there are other duos that are consistently scoring goals for their clubs.
Take Maximilian Podehl and player-coach Marco Stiepermann at ASC 09 Dortmund, for example. The two have scored 17 goals between them so far. Without the duo, Aplerbeck would certainly not be doing so well this season. Without these 17 goals, ASC 09 would have scored just nine. It is not without reason that Samir Habibovic, the sporting director of the Dortmund team, had hoped that one or other of his players would show their offensive strength in the second half of the season. Being too dependent on this duo would probably only harm long-term success.
