PSG, Al-Hilal and the player himself have reportedly agreed on a transfer. Neymar will receive a lavish salary, while PSG can look forward to a handsome transfer fee.
According to media reports, Brazilian football star Neymar is about to move to Saudi Arabia.
He is about to leave Paris Saint-Germain. Now PSG is said to have reached an agreement with the Saudi club Al-Hilal on a transfer, which Neymar is also said to have agreed to.
Over 100 million euros for two seasons
Neymar is to receive a contract for two seasons and earn 160 million euros in that time.
PSG will reportedly receive a transfer fee of 80 million euros for the 31-year-old attacker, which could rise to 100 million euros through bonus payments. Al-Hilal is currently said to be considering an option for a third year of the contract. The only other thing missing is the obligatory medical examination. According to The Athletic, Neymar is already undergoing his medical.
In 2017, the Brazilian moved from FC Barcelona to Paris for the record transfer fee of 222 million euros.
Neymar is said to have made efforts to return to Barça
Until the very end, Neymar is said to have made efforts in negotiations with Al-Hilal to be loaned directly to FC Barcelona for the coming season. His former club had also tried to realise the return, but the Saudi club ultimately turned it down. Barça coach Xavi is also said to have been unconvinced about Neymar’s return.
Only recently, Al-Hilal is said to have been working on the signing of Neymar’s team-mate Kylian Mbappé. According to media reports, the club would have been prepared to pay a transfer fee of 300 million euros, a new record.
However, Mbappé, who has been repeatedly linked with a transfer to Real Madrid on a free transfer next year, turned down the offer. Al-Hilal reportedly offered the French superstar an astronomical salary of 700 million euros for one season in the Saudi league.
Neymar would be the next superstar in Saudi Arabia
Neymar would be the next superstar to move to Saudi Arabia. The first was Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Al-Nassr in the winter. Most recently, Sadio Mané of FC Bayern München, Karim Benzema of Real Madrid and Jordan Henderson of Liverpool FC were among those who left for the Saudi Pro League. German coach Matthias Jaissle also left RB Salzburg for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
